Decorating Styles: Country

December 10th, 2007 by Bedding Expert

Don’t know what kind of decorating style you have? Well there’s so many styles out there that it’s had to think of which one you may fall into. I love watching TLC and HGTV and getting more ideas as to what I may be able to do with my house.

Do you like most of the rooms that Frank on TLC’s Trading Spaces designs? Most of what he does is a crafty country decorating style. He will typically draw animals on the wall and have wooden cows and other animals in the room. The country part of crafty country is the ruffled curtains and light fixtures made of antlers. The crafty part of it is taking older items and making them into something different. Taking old window shutters and combining them to make a privacy screen. You may take an old door and make it into a desk. The possibilities are endless.

Hard to get out of bed during winter?

December 4th, 2007 by Bedding Expert

One thing about getting out of bed is that you have to condition yourself with the climate conditions. Ideally, people hate to get out of beds. They would rather lie down rather than get up and try to be active.

When you are sleeping under good climate such as cool weather, chances are you will get more lazy and not want to get up.

This is something expected during Christmas and the winter season. During this season you may want an extra blanket to keep you warm.

Giving pets as presents

December 2nd, 2007 by Bedding Expert

Many people consider giving puppies, kittens, and other pets as presents. While receiving a pet as a gift can always be exciting, it is important for the gift giver to ensure their loved one can properly care for their new addition.

Pets come with responsibility and their care and training can be costly. Make sure whomever you present a pet to can afford veterinary bills and day-to-day expenses like food, toys, and shelter. Also make certain your loved one has the time available to properly train a new pet, if need be.

Before purchasing a puppy or kitten from a breeder, consider finding a suitable pet in one of your local shelters. Many adult dogs and cats are already trained and just waiting for a caring home of which to be a part. Make sure, however, that your loved one is prepared to take in such a companion and the responsibility that goes with it.

Avoid surprising someone with a pet who hasn’t recently expressed a desire for such a gift. Many people are allergic to different types of animals and your ‘thoughtful’ gift may have to find a new home. So take care when purchasing a pet to give as a present and remember that these animals have needs, just like us.
